LAID BARE

“Laid Bare” is a personal portrait series centered on my mother, exploring the emotional power of parental vulnerability. Through intimate images, the project challenges traditional views of parents as distant, invincible figures, showing the quiet strength that comes from openness and emotional honesty.

One poignant moment captured during a sensitive conversation revealed my mother’s tears as she reflected on her own mother’s debilitating stroke, realizing I had no memories of a woman who had meant so much to her. This series invites viewers to see parents as complex, feeling individuals, highlighting the deeper connection and empathy that comes from embracing emotional openness. Ultimately, “Laid Bare” is a tribute to the value of witnessing the full humanity of our parents.
